First Impressions Count –
What is your curbside appeal? Yard mowed
or raked? Bushes trimmed? Sidewalks tidy? Driveway weed and stain free? What about your entryway? Is it swept and clutter free?
A Little Dab’ll Do Ya! Spackle, caulking, painting – you can do
it! If your trim is neat and repaired,
everything has a fresh, appealing coat of paint, holes, touch ups all taken care
of-- nothing quite says move-in ready like new paint. Don’t forget fences and patios/decks.
Closets – No, they are not
good hiding places. Buyers WILL open the
doors! If they are overloaded – you plan
to move anyway! Pack up your seasonal,
extra, rarely-needed items NOW and store them AWAY from the home you are trying
to sell. An organized closet tells folks
you have pride of ownership and take loving care of details.
Get a new Cover! Outlets and switches. It is amazing what fresh covers will do for
your overall look, and at in-expensive
prices! Pre-cut pads under the plates
add to efficiency, reducing drafts and insuring a snug fit.
Turn the light on! Lights should be working, and have all the
bulbs installed. Don’t forget to clean
your fan blades.
Kitchens – the less clutter
the better. Keep your appliances off the
cabinets and dishes out of the sink.
Wipe down the fronts of your electronics and your sink each day. Consider new drawer and cupboard pulls!
Garage – make sure at least
one car fits comfortably. Clean floor
stains and arrange storage neatly.
Cleanliness is next to
Godliness. It’s difficult when you
inhabit the home. We know that, the
buyers know that. Keeping floors
vacuumed and mopped, items stored away, is a must. No arguments.
This is only a partial list, but some of the more affordable alternatives when readying your home for market.
